David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center
Broadway at 63rd Street

For the first performance of the inaugural White Light Festival, Lincoln Center presents this free event featuring composer and performer Meredith Monk. Monk has long been at the forefront of creating new musical dimensions with her iconoclastic, genre-defying fusion of song, theater, dance, and film. In this concert, which features her with members of her Vocal Ensemble, Monk draws on her 40 years of exploring the original human instrument, casting the voice as an eloquent language in and of itself, one capable of expanding the boundaries of composition and creating timeless landscapes of sound and emotion that lie beyond words.

Meredith Monk, voice and piano; Katie Geissinger, voice; Bohdan Hilash, woodwinds; Allison Sniffin, voice and piano
