Free Concert: Grooms, Food Stamps, McCarren Park, 8/4

Join us this week at SummerScreen for an intimate night of Pete Verhoeven’s Starship Troopers, brought to you in part by the appreciators of themes of fascism and Jessica Biel’s career over at Film Society at Lincoln Center. Bring your love for laughably violent war scenes but leave any notion of Neil Patrick Harris as a Brawdway Stah at home.

As always, please arrive at the McCarren Park Ballfields (on N12th and Beford) at 6 pm to check out the live music shows curated by Free Williamsburg. This week you'll hear the dreamy hunks of Grooms play with the other dreamy hunks Food Stamps. All that hunkage FOR FREE!

Don't forget to enter our Fandango Contest, and drink some Sixpoint and eat all the San Loco, Asia Dog, and Porchetta you can pack away without gaining too many pounds. You do have to look good in those co-ed locker rooms in the future, you know.

And for all of you round-helmet'd brothers and sisters who are actually kind of scared of genitalia-esque aliens and don't want to go back to their dark houses after the movie, Pete’s Candy Store is having an after party with $3 pints of Six Point Sweet Action and a $9 Panini and Six Point special for the first 50 Pete’s cardholders. You can pick up your Pete’s card at the SummerScreen front desk at the entrance to the park.

And of course, this event is free. Check out the website for more details. See you Wednesday!
